"How To Style Your Dresser" Tutorial

"How To Style Your Dresser" Tutorial

Oh, do I feel like I’ve totally neglected this blog. Ugh. This whole new role I have as mom has been 100000% amazing but man, is it a lot of work and trying to juggle my business at the same time is HARD stuff. So yeah, the blog has absolutely taken a backseat but I sure have missed chatting with you here. Fingers crossed I can get better at this blogging thing!

I’ve been working on some really awesome decorating and home organization projects, which I share a whole lot of over on my Instagram, but one project that I recently worked on was what I’m about to share with you today! And that’s my “how to style your dresser” tutorial. SO excited to dive into this with you!

Nursery Reveal!

Nursery Reveal!

I feel like it was forever ago that Penny’s nursery was my office/our guest room. If you’d like a reminder of what her room looked like before we found out we were pregnant, you can see a very “real life” version of the space here. There was no styling and definitely horrible lighting in those photos but they will show you what we started with.

Designing Penn’y nursery was so special, obviously! This was my first baby/children’s space that I have worked on and I enjoyed every bit of it. There’s something about children’s spaces that are unlike adult spaces - there are more opportunities to be a little more carefree and whimsical. I had especially enjoyed layering in some family heirlooms that offered just enough sweetness.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

5 Easy Ways To Decorate Your Home For Spring + Summer

5 Easy Ways To Decorate Your Home For Spring + Summer

The warmer weather and sunshine are finally here and I could not be more ecstatic. If you live in New England or anywhere else where you experience the change of seasons, you quickly realize how amazing the warmth and sunshine feel after a long, cold and snowy winter.

You can finally open the windows, eat al fresco in your yard or if you're like me on your small city deck, and hopefully swap out your winter home décor for pieces that are more suitable for spring and summer.

Tips For Selecting Art + My Current Favorites

Tips For Selecting Art + My Current Favorites

Art is one of those things that can either make or break a space. A poor choice in art can make a space look cheesy, while an awesome choice in art can take a space to the next level (in a good way!). With that said, art is extremely personal which can make it difficult to select if you're not entirely sure what you like or even what will work with your space. There are SO many different types of art - painting, mixed media, drawing, photography, etc. So when you're trying to select art for your space but are feeling a little stumped, my first rule would be to determine what you like or even what you don't like to rule out the obvious. For me, I gravitate towards paintings but also like very selective photography-type art.

GUEST ROOM/MY OFFICE TURNED NURSERY - PART 1

GUEST ROOM/MY OFFICE TURNED NURSERY - PART 1

Okay, so if you've been following along on my Instagram posts and stories you know that we've been transforming our guest room/my old office into the baby's room and though not complete, it is already a space I love.

This room used to have a Murphy bed with wardrobe cabinet attached, have dark moody walls and be my workspace since I work from home. We kept it very tidy and organized, are you surprised? ; ) No but seriously, this was a really great use of space that served a number of functions - guest room, my office, my wardrobe space (clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.).
